In the heart of Amsterdam there's a great hostel called the flying pig. There's a lot I can't mention that goes on in the bar downstairs. Every young traveler should pay a visit here or stay here for that matter. And if you stay long enough you will see pigs fly. I know I did.

Amsterdam Hostels

At anytime during the day, you can find travelers sleeping in their hostel beds. At 3 in the afternoon I came in to replace my battery and I found these travelers sleeping. Then at 4 I came back to get a new tape and they were gone. The same travelers returned at 9 PM and were fast asleep again.

Before hitting the coffee shops I decided to check out the Heineken brewery for the day. They were giving me a free tour that day and I felt so special. They took me all the way to the end and I used the tickets for all the free beer I wanted. After that I didn't remember much else. That beer was really strong, especially in large quantities.
